Guide to Margaret River | The Best Wineries and Restaurants

Best Wineries in Margaret River

A three-hour drive away from Perth in Australia, you’ll find yourself in the Margaret River region, known for its high-quality Chardonnay. Here are the top 3 vineyards you shouldn’t miss. I can recommend them not only based on their excellent wine selection but also because of the wineries’ scenic atmosphere and exceptional restaurants.

1. Vasse Felix

Your first stop coming from Perth should be Vasse Felix, a beautiful family- owned vineyard with a scenic restaurant. Known for its Chardonnay, you can indulge in a complimentary wine tasting (loved the classic white) before heading for lunch. Check out their website for upcoming events. Vasse Felix hosts beautiful classical concerts in its attached art gallery (local artists), after which guests can enjoy great dinner with wine pairings.

2. Leeuwin Estate

Leeuwin Estate has not only great wine but also a great restaurant with views on the surrounding vineyards. To get to the estate, you will need to drive a very scenic route – you will most certainly see wallabies in the late afternoon. Check out their website for more information about wine tastings, wine tours, as well as concerts.IMG_1903

3. Voyager Estate

The Voyager Estate is one of the larger vineyards in the region. Setting itself apart from all other vineyards in Margaret River, the Voyager Estate is surrounded by a beautiful rose garden. The wine tasting is also a bit different from the other wineries as it takes place in a formal setting. Besides the wine tasting, we tried the cheese board sitting in the beautiful rose garden – just amazing🤪🧀
